Lead Instructor (Offensive + SOC) – Bengaluru – 5 to 11 Years Experience
Job Description
VEVION is looking for an experienced Lead Instructor (Offensive + SOC) to mentor and train the next generation of cyber defenders. This role combines hands-on offensive security expertise with strong SOC and defensive operations knowledge.
You will lead practical, lab-driven training sessions and bridge the gap between “how to hack” and “how to detect and respond.” The ideal candidate lives in the command line, has real-world security experience, and can explain complex concepts clearly to learners at different skill levels.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver deep-dive sessions on VAPT, network penetration testing, and web application security.
- Teach exploitation techniques aligned with the OWASP Top 10.
- Build and teach SOC workflows, including SIEM monitoring and log correlation.
- Conduct incident response and threat hunting workshops.
- Design and curate hands-on labs, Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges, and attack-versus-defense simulations.
- Update the curriculum based on emerging threats and zero-day vulnerabilities.
- Mentor students and professionals to prepare them for real-world cybersecurity roles and certifications.
Job Requirements
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Security Analyst, Penetration Tester, or Cybersecurity Consultant.
• Strong offensive security background with VAPT expertise.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as:
Kali Linux
Burp Suite
Metasploit
Wireshark
Splunk / ELK Stack
• Strong knowledge of incident response and threat hunting.
• Ability to explain technical concepts such as buffer overflows and SIEM log correlation clearly.
• Purple team mindset with both red and blue team exposure.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or GDPR.
• Certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.
• Experience designing structured cybersecurity training programs.
