Cybersecurity Mentor (Offensive + SOC) – Bengaluru – 5 to 11 Years Experience
Job Description
VEVION is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Mentor to bridge the gap between Offensive Security and Security Operations (SOC). This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can both exploit vulnerabilities and demonstrate how they are detected and mitigated in real-world environments.
You will lead practical, hands-on training sessions, design attack-versus-defense simulations, and mentor aspiring cybersecurity professionals. The role demands strong expertise in both red team and blue team practices, along with the ability to deliver engaging, technically sound instruction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead in-depth sessions on VAPT, network penetration testing, and web application security.
- Teach exploitation techniques aligned with the OWASP Top 10.
- Build and deliver SOC workflows, including SIEM monitoring and incident response.
- Conduct hands-on labs, Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges, and attack-versus-defense simulations.
- Mentor students and professionals on threat hunting and log correlation techniques.
- Develop and update cybersecurity curriculum based on emerging threats and zero-day vulnerabilities.
- Provide guidance on certifications such as CEH, CompTIA, and CISSP.
Job Requirements
• 5+ years of experience as a Security Analyst, Penetration Tester, or Cybersecurity Consultant.
• Strong knowledge of VAPT methodologies and exploitation techniques.
• Hands-on expertise with tools such as:
Kali Linux
Burp Suite
Metasploit
Wireshark
Splunk / ELK Stack
• Strong understanding of incident response and threat hunting.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly to both beginners and experienced professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or GDPR.
• Certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent.
• Experience designing cybersecurity labs and simulations.
