Security Engineer – Toronto – 5 to 7 Years Experience
Job Description
We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Security Engineer with deep expertise in cloud and application security. This role will focus on securing systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while aligning with best practices and compliance standards. Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure cloud architectures using GCP services
- Apply cloud security best practices across data encryption, IAM, and network security
- Conduct secure code reviews and enforce Secure SDLC practices
- Implement and manage SIEM solutions and threat detection mechanisms
- Perform vulnerability scans, patch management, and coordinate penetration testing
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOC 2)
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• 5–7 years of experience in information security
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud security services
• Strong understanding of IAM, Security Command Center, VPC Service Controls, and Cloud KMS
Preferred Qualifications
• Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Security Engineer
• Experience with application security tools (SAST, DAST)
• Familiarity with secure coding principles and DevSecOps workflows
